BHPC/Sussex Moderate Success at Adur Snowboules Open Doubles

Tony Mann writes:    “Great to see such a large contingent of Sussex players at the Adur Open Doubles today [Lancing, Sunday 26 January]. We had a total of seven teams there including a junior team consisting of the young maestros Morgan Pry and Callum Slade who made a big impression and are going to be a great asset to our region.”

Of the three of the said contingent who were our club members, David and Stephan Alfred, having come second in their morning league (one of eight) – in which they were given a good run for their money by the young maestros above – were runners-up in the Silver knockout competition; and Tony Mann playing with Jeff Mitchell (Goldsmiths PC, Crowborough) won the Bronze knockout.

All 29 teams present blithely brushed aside the fearsome weather forecast and so duly got a jolly good soaking, such be their love of pétanque.
