Sussex Petanque Just Misses Promotion to First Division

What a weekend that was! In the EPA Inter-Regional Championship on 15/16 September Sussex Petanque zoomed up from fifth position (29 games won, excluding the juniors) last year to third position this year, winning 47 games, just 3 behind London and 6 behind the Isle of Wight who won the Division. This is the highest ranking our region has achieved in its brief existence.

The goal now must be for SXP to cap this fine collective performance by being one of the top two regions next year and so promoted to the First Division.

Part of the huge playing area at Mill Rythe Holiday Village, Hayling Island.

The last game in the last round against London Region between the two no. 1 teams. Alas, our Herbie, Jeff and Mick (Crowborough) lost.
