Open Doubles Another Great Day for the Club

With warm sunny weather replacing the forecast showers, a full turnout of 24 teams (including Ami and Sveta from Israel, over here for the Olympic Games) vied for our generous suite of prizes.

Achievements by club members included Alan and Joe Issler (BA, 1st class honours) winning the Plate Consolage, Ian Maynard and Bob White runners-up in the Plate, and David Alfred with Martin Hughes (President, Chilterns region) making the top eight of the Main.

With a good crowd watching, players and members of the public, the redoubtable Angie and Lee Jamieson won the Main competition defeating current EPA Doubles champions, David Plumhoff and Sean Prendergast.

Thanks to all those club members who helped to make this event so successful.
