Last one before I leave for Provence.
What do you think this stone is used for?
I saw it at a club in Arlès, a few years ago.
To help you a little: there are 3 rows of indentations where the players put their boules.
But can you guess why?

As there are 3 indentations in each row I think it’s where players leave their boules when not playing, possibly while they have a pastis or play a game of cards.
Hi Trish,
You’ve obviously played in France if you associate cards and pastis with pétanque!
A good guess but it’s used more after they’ve finished playing cards.
Try again.
It’s Used for shooting practice!
Marcus, you should be shot!
Another good guess but not right.
Maybe Trish will buy you a Pastis?
For reserving your place in a queue to play.
Seen similar at golf clubs by first tee.
